Ingredients

Scale
  • Cauliflower Wings: 1 medium head of cauliflower, cut into medium/small florets

  • Batter: ⅔ cup gluten-free flour, ⅔ cup plain non-dairy milk, ½ tsp garlic powder, ¼ tsp salt

  • Breadcrumb Coating: ¾ cup gluten-free breadcrumbs

  • Spicy Sesame Sauce:

    • 1 tbsp oil, 5 cloves garlic (minced), 1 tsp grated ginger

    • ⅓ cup low-sodium soy sauce or tamari, ¼ cup honey or maple syrup

    • 2 tbsp water or vegetable broth, 1 tbsp toasted sesame oil

    • 1 tbsp rice vinegar, 2 tbsp gochujang, 1-2 tsp sriracha

    • 1 tsp cornstarch mixed with 1 tsp water

  • Garnish: Sesame seeds, chopped scallions

Instructions

  1. Prepare Cauliflower: Wash, dry, and cut cauliflower into florets.

  2. Make Batter: Whisk flour, milk, garlic powder, and salt until smooth.

  3. Coat Cauliflower: Dip florets in batter, then coat with breadcrumbs.

  4. Preheat Air Fryer: Heat to 370°F for 2-3 minutes.

  5. Air Fry: Place cauliflower in the basket without overcrowding. Air fry at 370°F for 10-13 minutes, flipping halfway.

  6. Make Sauce: In a saucepan, cook garlic and ginger in oil until fragrant. Add soy sauce, honey/maple syrup, sesame oil, rice vinegar, gochujang, sriracha, and cornstarch mixture. Simmer until thickened.

  7. Toss and Serve: Coat crispy cauliflower with sauce, garnish with sesame seeds and scallions, and serve hot.

Notes

  • For extra crispiness, toast breadcrumbs before coating.

  • Adjust heat level by increasing or reducing gochujang or sriracha.

  • Store leftovers in an airtight container for up to 3 days.
