Description

These Apple Pie Egg Rolls are a crispy, handheld version of classic apple pie, filled with spiced apples and cream cheese and coated in cinnamon sugar. They can be baked, air-fried, or deep-fried and served with caramel sauce for an indulgent treat!

Ingredients

Scale
  • 3 Granny Smith apples, peeled, cored, and diced
  • ¼ cup brown sugar
  • ½ teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 teaspoon cornstarch
  • 1 tablespoon butter
  • 12 egg roll wrappers
  • ½ cup cream cheese, softened
  • 1 egg, beaten
  • ¼ cup granulated sugar
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 2 tablespoons melted butter

Instructions

  • Prepare the apple filling by cooking diced apples, brown sugar, cinnamon, and butter until softened. Stir in cornstarch to thicken, then add vanilla extract. Let cool.
  • Assemble the egg rolls by spreading cream cheese onto wrappers, adding apple filling, and rolling tightly. Seal the edges with egg wash.
  • Choose your cooking method:
    • Bake at 425°F (220°C) for 15-17 minutes.
    • Air-fry at 400°F (200°C) for 5-7 minutes.
    • Deep-fry at 375°F (190°C) for 2-4 minutes per side.
  • Coat with cinnamon sugar and serve warm with caramel sauce.

Notes

  • Use Granny Smith apples for the best balance of tartness and sweetness.
  • If deep-frying, ensure oil is at 375°F (190°C) to prevent greasy egg rolls.
  • For extra crispiness, air-fry after baking for a few minutes.
  • Make ahead tip: Assemble and freeze the egg rolls before cooking.
