Ingredients
Scale
- 3 Granny Smith apples, peeled, cored, and diced
- ¼ cup brown sugar
- ½ teaspoon ground cinnamon
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1 teaspoon cornstarch
- 1 tablespoon butter
- 12 egg roll wrappers
- ½ cup cream cheese, softened
- 1 egg, beaten
- ¼ cup granulated sugar
- 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
- 2 tablespoons melted butter
Instructions
- Prepare the apple filling by cooking diced apples, brown sugar, cinnamon, and butter until softened. Stir in cornstarch to thicken, then add vanilla extract. Let cool.
- Assemble the egg rolls by spreading cream cheese onto wrappers, adding apple filling, and rolling tightly. Seal the edges with egg wash.
- Choose your cooking method:
- Bake at 425°F (220°C) for 15-17 minutes.
- Air-fry at 400°F (200°C) for 5-7 minutes.
- Deep-fry at 375°F (190°C) for 2-4 minutes per side.
- Coat with cinnamon sugar and serve warm with caramel sauce.
Notes
- Use Granny Smith apples for the best balance of tartness and sweetness.
- If deep-frying, ensure oil is at 375°F (190°C) to prevent greasy egg rolls.
- For extra crispiness, air-fry after baking for a few minutes.
