Description

These Bacon, Fig, and Ricotta Tartines combine crispy bacon, sweet figs, creamy ricotta, and toasted bread for a crowd-pleasing appetizer. Perfect for entertaining or brunch, this elegant recipe is simple yet impressive!


Ingredients

  • 4 oz thick-cut bacon (thinly sliced)
  • 12 thick slices of grainy bread
  • 1 cup ricotta cheese
  • 6 fresh figs (halved or quartered)
  • 2 tbsp maple syrup
  • 2 tbsp white wine vinegar
  • Flaky sea salt and freshly ground black pepper
  • Smoked paprika (optional)
  • Fresh rosemary sprigs (for garnish)

Instructions

  • Cook bacon in a skillet over medium heat until crispy (6–7 minutes). Drain and set aside, leaving 1 tbsp bacon fat in the skillet.
  • Toast the slices of grainy bread until golden and crispy.
  • In the skillet, mix maple syrup into the bacon fat and cook the figs for 2–3 minutes until softened. Deglaze with white wine vinegar.
  • Spread 2 tbsp ricotta cheese onto each slice of toasted bread. Add figs and sprinkle crispy bacon on top.
  • Season with sea salt, black pepper, and a dash of smoked paprika. Garnish with rosemary sprigs. Serve immediately.

Notes

  • For a vegetarian version, replace bacon with toasted nuts.
  • Dried figs can be rehydrated and used as a substitute for fresh figs.
  • Use gluten-free bread for a gluten-free option.
