These Baked Ham and Cheese Croissants are the perfect comfort food. Made with buttery croissants filled with savory ham and gooey cheese, then baked to golden perfection. Ready in just 15 minutes, they’re ideal for breakfast, brunch, or a quick snack.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 4 large croissants (freshly baked or store-bought)
  • 4 slices of high-quality deli ham (or turkey, chicken)
  • 4 slices of cheese (Swiss, cheddar, mozzarella, or your choice)
  • 1 tablespoon Dijon mustard (optional, for extra flavor)
  • 1 tablespoon melted butter (for brushing on top)
  • 1 teaspoon dried thyme (optional)
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder (optional)

Instructions

  • Preheat Oven: Preheat to 350°F (175°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  • Prepare Croissants: Slice croissants in half horizontally. Lightly toast if desired.
  • Spread Mustard: Spread a thin layer of Dijon mustard on the inside of each croissant.
  • Add Ham & Cheese: Layer each croissant with a slice of ham and cheese.
  • Assemble Croissants: Close the croissants and place them on the prepared baking sheet.
  • Brush & Season: Brush the tops with melted butter. Optionally, sprinkle dried thyme and garlic powder.
  • Bake: Bake for 10–12 minutes, until golden brown and the cheese is melted.
  • Serve: Let cool for 2–3 minutes and serve warm.

Notes

  • For extra gooeyness, add two slices of cheese per croissant.
  • Use turkey, chicken, or beef bacon for a different flavor.
  • For a crispy finish, broil for an additional 1–2 minutes after baking.
