 - 1 teaspoon baking powder
 - ¼ teaspoon baking soda
 - 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
 - ¼ teaspoon ground nutmeg
 - ¼ teaspoon salt
 - 2 tablespoons unsalted butter (melted)
 - 1 large egg (room temperature)
 - ⅓ cup packed light brown sugar
 - ¼ cup milk (room temperature)
 - ¼ cup Greek yogurt or sour cream (room temperature)
 - 1 teaspoon pure vanilla extract
 
For the Maple Glaze:
- 2 tablespoons unsalted butter
 - ⅓ cup pure maple syrup
 - 1 cup powdered sugar (sifted)
 - ¼ teaspoon maple extract (optional)
 - Pinch of salt
 
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 350°F (177°C) and grease a donut pan.
 - In a bowl, whisk together flour, baking powder, baking soda, cinnamon, nutmeg, and salt.
 - In another bowl, mix melted butter, egg, brown sugar, milk, Greek yogurt, and vanilla.
 - Combine wet and dry ingredients, stirring until just combined.
 - Pipe the batter into the donut pan, filling each mold halfway full.
 - Bake for 10-11 minutes, or until lightly golden. Let them cool.
 - For the glaze, melt butter and maple syrup over low heat, then whisk in powdered sugar and maple extract.
 - Dip each cooled donut into the glaze and let it set before serving.
 
Notes
- Do not overmix the batter, or the donuts may become dense.
 - Double dip the glaze for a thicker, more decadent topping.
 - Store unglazed donuts for up to 3 months in the freezer.
