Ingredients
For the Bread Pudding:

2 large egg yolks

2¼ cups half-and-half cream

2 cups whole milk

½ cup melted butter

¼ cup sugar

1 tbsp vanilla extract

1½ tsp ground cinnamon

½ tsp ground nutmeg

¼ tsp sea salt

20 dinner rolls (about 1¼ lbs), cut into 1-inch cubes (about 18 cups)

3 tbsp brown sugar (for topping)
For the Vanilla Sauce:

1 cup butter, cubed

1 cup packed brown sugar

1 cup half-and-half cream

2 tsp vanilla extract

¼ tsp sea salt

⅛ tsp baking soda
Instructions

Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a 3-quart or 13×9-inch baking dish.

In a large bowl, whisk eggs, yolks, half-and-half, milk, melted butter, sugar, vanilla, cinnamon, nutmeg, and salt.

Add bread cubes and toss to coat. Let sit for 15 minutes.

Pour mixture into prepared dish, sprinkle with brown sugar, and bake for 40–45 minutes, until golden brown and set.

For the vanilla sauce, melt butter in a saucepan over medium heat. Add brown sugar, stirring until dissolved.

Add half-and-half cream, bring to a gentle boil, then simmer for 15–20 minutes.

Remove from heat and stir in vanilla, salt, and baking soda.
