- ¼ cup fresh basil, chopped

- 1 baguette or Italian bread, sliced
- 2 tablespoons olive oil, for brushing
- 1 clove garlic, peeled and halved (for rubbing on bread)
Instructions
- Dice the tomatoes and place them in a bowl. Add chopped basil, minced garlic, olive oil, balsamic vinegar, salt, and pepper. Mix well and let it sit.
- Preheat oven to 450°F (232°C) or heat a grill pan. Slice the bread into ½-inch pieces and brush with olive oil. Toast for 5-7 minutes until golden.
- Rub the warm toasted bread with a halved garlic clove for extra flavor.
- Spoon the tomato mixture onto each slice and serve immediately.
