Description

These Buffalo Cauliflower Wings are a spicy, crispy, and delicious vegan alternative to classic buffalo wings. Made by baking cauliflower florets coated in a seasoned batter and tossed in buffalo sauce, they’re perfect for game-day snacks, parties, or as a satisfying appetizer.

Ingredients

Scale

For the Cauliflower Wings:

  • 1 large head of cauliflower, cut into florets

  • 3/4 cup all-purpose flour (or gluten-free flour)

  • 1 tsp paprika

  • 1 tsp onion powder

  • 1 tsp garlic powder

  • 1 tsp salt

  • 3/4 cup buttermilk (or almond milk + 1 tbsp apple cider vinegar for vegan version)

For the Buffalo Sauce:

  • 2 tbsp butter, melted (or vegan butter/coconut oil)

  • 1/3 cup buffalo sauce (e.g., Frank’s Red Hot)

Instructions

  • Preheat the Oven: Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C) and line two baking sheets with parchment paper.

  • Make the Batter: Combine flour, paprika, onion powder, garlic powder, and salt. Add buttermilk (or almond milk mixture) and mix until smooth.

  • Coat the Cauliflower: Dip florets in the batter and place them on baking sheets, spaced apart.

  • Bake: Bake for 20 minutes, flip, and bake for another 20 minutes until golden and crispy.

  • Prepare Sauce: Mix melted butter and buffalo sauce until well blended.

  • Toss & Serve: Coat baked cauliflower with buffalo sauce and serve immediately with vegan ranch or blue cheese dressing.

Notes

  • For extra crispiness, return coated cauliflower to the oven for an additional 5 minutes.

  • To make it gluten-free, use gluten-free flour.

  • Adjust spice level by adding more or less buffalo sauce.
