A fresh and satisfying no-cook sandwich inspired by Caprese salad, layered with juicy tomatoes, creamy mozzarella, fragrant basil, and tangy balsamic glaze.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 small ciabatta loaf or 2 rolls, sliced

  • 6 slices fresh mozzarella (4 oz)

  • 1 large ripe tomato, sliced

  • ¼ cup sun-dried tomatoes, drained

  • 1 handful fresh basil leaves

  • 2 tbsp balsamic glaze

  • Optional: 1–2 tsp pesto, arugula or spinach, crushed red pepper

Instructions

  • Slice the ciabatta bread in half.

  • Rinse and dry basil leaves.

  • Slice the tomato and let drain briefly on a paper towel.

  • Layer mozzarella, fresh tomato slices, sun-dried tomatoes, and basil on the bottom half of the bread.

  • Drizzle with balsamic glaze.

  • Add any optional toppings like pesto or greens.

  • Top with remaining bread, press gently, and serve immediately.

Notes

  • For best results, use fresh mozzarella and ripe, firm tomatoes.
