Description

These Cheesy Sausage Muffins are fluffy, savory, and packed with protein. Made without Bisquick, they’re an easy make-ahead breakfast or snack, perfect for meal prep!


Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour (or gluten-free blend)
  • 1 tbsp baking powder
  • ½ tsp salt
  • 1 cup milk
  • 1 egg
  • 6 tbsp melted butter
  • 1 tbsp maple syrup or sugar
  • 1 lb cooked breakfast sausage, crumbled
  • 2 cups shredded sharp cheddar cheese

Instructions

  • Preheat oven to 400°F (204°C). Grease a muffin tin.
  • Cook sausage in a skillet, breaking it into crumbles. Drain excess grease.
  • In a bowl, whisk flour, baking powder, and salt.
  • Stir in cheese and cooked sausage.
  • In another bowl, whisk milk, egg, melted butter, and maple syrup.
  • Pour wet ingredients into dry ingredients and stir until combined.
  • Fill muffin cups to the top with batter.
  • Bake for 18-20 minutes, or until golden brown.
  • Cool for 5 minutes before removing from the tin.
