- 1 tbsp baking powder
- ½ tsp salt
- 1 cup milk
- 1 egg
- 6 tbsp melted butter
- 1 tbsp maple syrup or sugar
- 1 lb cooked breakfast sausage, crumbled
- 2 cups shredded sharp cheddar cheese
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 400°F (204°C). Grease a muffin tin.
- Cook sausage in a skillet, breaking it into crumbles. Drain excess grease.
- In a bowl, whisk flour, baking powder, and salt.
- Stir in cheese and cooked sausage.
- In another bowl, whisk milk, egg, melted butter, and maple syrup.
- Pour wet ingredients into dry ingredients and stir until combined.
- Fill muffin cups to the top with batter.
- Bake for 18-20 minutes, or until golden brown.
- Cool for 5 minutes before removing from the tin.
