Easter Bunny Rolls

Description

Soft, buttery, and shaped like adorable bunnies, these breakfast rolls are a fun and festive treat for Easter morning. Perfect for kids and holiday gatherings.


Ingredients

Scale
  • 3.5 tbsp butter, softened

  • 20g fresh yeast or 7g instant yeast

  • 1/4 cup warm milk (60ml)

  • 2 1/3 cups flour (290g)

  • Pinch of salt

  • 3.5 tbsp sugar (1.4 oz)

  • 1 tsp vanilla extract

  • 1 large egg

  • 1 egg yolk (or 2 small eggs/2 large eggs + 2 tsp flour)

For Brushing and Decoration:

  • 1 egg + 1 tbsp milk

  • Pearl or granulated sugar for tails


Instructions

  • Dissolve yeast in warm milk; let rest for 10–15 mins.

  • Mix yeast mixture with butter, flour, salt, sugar, egg, and yolk.

  • Knead 7–10 mins until smooth. Let rise 2 hrs.

  • Divide dough into 8 portions. Shape into bunny body, head, ears, and tail.

  • Place on baking sheet, let rise 20 mins.

  • Brush with egg wash, sprinkle sugar on tails.

  • Bake at 350°F (180°C) for 18–20 mins.

  • Cool on wire rack before serving.

Notes

  • Use warm milk, not hot, to activate yeast.
  • Let dough rise fully for fluffiest texture.
