One Hour Cinnamon Rolls

Description

Quick, soft, and gooey cinnamon rolls made from scratch in just 60 minutes. No overnight rise required—perfect for breakfast or dessert anytime.


Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 cup warm milk (100–110°F)

  • 2 ¼ tsp active dry yeast

  • ⅓ cup granulated sugar

  • 4 tbsp unsalted butter, melted

  • 1 large egg

  • ½ tsp salt

  • 1 tsp vanilla extract

  • 3 ½ to 4 cups all-purpose flour

  • Filling:

    • ⅓ cup softened butter

    • ½ cup brown sugar

    • ¼ cup granulated sugar

    • 1 tbsp cinnamon

    • 1 tsp vanilla extract

  • Frosting:

    • 4 oz cream cheese

    • 2 tbsp butter

    • 1 cup powdered sugar

    • 1 tsp vanilla extract

    • 12 tbsp milk


Instructions

  • Activate yeast with warm milk and sugar; let sit 10 mins.

  • Add butter, egg, salt, vanilla, and flour. Mix until dough forms.

  • Knead dough for 3–5 mins and let rise 10 mins.

  • Roll dough into rectangle; spread filling.

  • Roll up dough and cut into 12 rolls.

  • Place in greased pan and bake at 350°F for 25–30 mins.

  • Mix frosting ingredients and spread over cooled rolls.

Notes

  • Use warm milk (not hot) to activate yeast.
  • Don’t skip cooling rolls slightly before frosting.
  • Freeze after baking or before for easy make-ahead.
