Description
These French Onion Cups combine all the comforting flavors of French onion soup into bite-sized appetizers made with flaky puff pastry and rich Gruyère cheese. Perfect for gatherings, these savory treats are easy to make and sure to impress.

			- 1 tablespoon olive oil
 - 1 tablespoon butter
 - 4 medium onions, thinly sliced
 - Salt and pepper, to taste
 - 1 tablespoon fresh thyme, chopped
 - ½ cup beef broth
 - 3 tablespoons heavy cream
 - 1 package puff pastry, thawed
 - 12 tablespoons grated Gruyère cheese
 
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 375°F and grease a 12-cup muffin tin.
 - Heat olive oil and butter in a large pan. Sauté onions until caramelized (25–30 minutes). Season with salt, pepper, and thyme.
 - Add beef broth; simmer until reduced. Stir in heavy cream and let cool.
 - Roll out puff pastry and cut into 2½-inch squares. Press each square into the muffin tin.
 - Fill each pastry cup with 2 tablespoons of onion mixture and top with 1 tablespoon of Gruyère cheese.
 - Bake for 20–22 minutes until golden. Cool slightly before serving.
 
Notes
- Store leftover onion cups in an airtight container for up to 3 days. Reheat in a 350°F oven for 8–10 minutes.
 - For a vegetarian version, use vegetable broth instead of beef broth.
