This Halal Deconstructed Dumpling Noodles dish captures the savory flavors of traditional dumplings in a simple, one-skillet noodle stir-fry. With tender halal-certified ground chicken or beef, crisp vegetables, and a flavorful soy-based sauce, this recipe is perfect for a quick and satisfying weeknight meal.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 8 oz lo mein noodles (or egg-free noodles)
  • 1 tbsp vegetable oil
  • 1 lb halal-certified ground chicken or beef
  • 4 green onions, chopped (reserve some for garnish)
  • 3 garlic cloves, minced
  • 1 tbsp fresh ginger, grated
  • 2 tbsp rice vinegar
  • 3 tbsp halal-certified soy sauce
  • 1 cup halal chicken broth
  • 1 tsp halal-certified sriracha (optional)
  • 4 cups coleslaw mix (shredded cabbage and carrots)
  • 1 tsp sesame oil
  • Sesame seeds (optional, for garnish)

Instructions

  • Boil salted water and cook the noodles until al dente. Drain, rinse with cold water, and set aside.
  • Heat vegetable oil in a skillet or wok. Sauté green onions, garlic, and ginger for 1-2 minutes.
  • Add ground chicken or beef, cooking for 5-7 minutes until browned and fully cooked. Drain excess fat.
  • In a bowl, mix rice vinegar, soy sauce, chicken broth, and sriracha. Pour over the meat and stir.
  • Add coleslaw mix, tossing to combine. Cook for 2-3 minutes until slightly softened.
  • Stir in cooked noodles and toss with sesame oil.
  • Serve hot, garnished with green onions and sesame seeds.

Notes

  • Use tamari for a gluten-free and halal-friendly alternative to soy sauce.
  • Add veggies like mushrooms, bell peppers, or snap peas for variety.
  • Adjust the spice level by adding more or less sriracha.
  • Store leftovers in the fridge for up to 3 days.
