Instructions
- Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a 9×5-inch loaf pan.
- In a bowl, whisk together flour, cocoa powder, baking soda, and salt.
- In a separate bowl, beat butter and sugar until light and fluffy.
- Add eggs one at a time, mixing well. Stir in vanilla extract.
- Alternately add dry ingredients and buttermilk, mixing gently.
- Fold in hot fudge sauce and optional mix-ins.
- Pour batter into the prepared loaf pan and smooth the top.
- Bake for 50-60 minutes, until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out with moist crumbs.
- Cool in the pan for 10 minutes, then transfer to a wire rack.
