- 1.5 to 2 lbs chicken tenders or boneless chicken breasts (cut into strips)
- 1.5 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 tsp kosher salt
- 1/4 tsp black pepper
- 1/4 tsp garlic powder
- 1/4 tsp smoked paprika
- 1 cup buttermilk
- 1 large egg + 2 tbsp water (beaten)
- Vegetable, canola, or peanut oil for frying
For the Buttermilk Biscuits:
- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 tbsp baking powder
- 1 tsp kosher salt
- 1/4 tsp baking soda
- 1/2 cup cold butter (shredded or cubed)
- 3/4 cup buttermilk
- 1/4 cup melted butter (for brushing)
For the Hot Honey:
- 1 cup honey
- 2 tsp crushed red pepper flakes
- 1 tbsp apple cider vinegar
Instructions
- Marinate Chicken: Soak chicken in buttermilk for at least 15 minutes.
- Dredge Chicken: Coat chicken in a seasoned flour mixture, then dip back into buttermilk and flour again for extra crispiness.
- Fry Chicken: Heat oil to 365°F and fry chicken for 8-10 minutes until golden and crispy.
- Make Biscuits: Mix flour, salt, and baking powder. Cut in cold butter, add buttermilk, fold dough, then bake at 450°F for 15 minutes.
- Prepare Hot Honey: Warm honey with red pepper flakes, stir in vinegar, and let cool.
- Assemble Biscuits: Split biscuits, add fried chicken, drizzle with hot honey, and serve warm.

- For extra spicy honey, add more red pepper flakes.
