Description

A rich and flavorful dish featuring jammy soft-boiled eggs, creamy garlic yogurt, and spiced chili butter. Perfect for breakfast, brunch, or a quick meal with warm bread.

 


Ingredients

  • 4 large eggs
  • 2 (5.3 oz) containers full-fat Greek yogurt
  • 1 large garlic clove, grated
  • Zest and juice of ½ lemon
  • ¼ cup unsalted butter
  • ½ tbsp extra-virgin olive oil
  • ½ tsp chili flakes
  • 1 tsp Aleppo pepper (or smoked paprika)
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Chopped fresh parsley (for garnish)
  • Toasted bread for serving

Instructions

  • Melt butter with olive oil, chili flakes, and Aleppo pepper. Set aside.
  • Mix Greek yogurt with lemon juice, lemon zest, grated garlic, salt, and pepper.
  • Boil eggs for 6½ minutes, then transfer to an ice bath. Peel carefully.
  • Spread garlic yogurt on a plate, top with halved eggs, and drizzle chili butter.
  • Garnish with parsley and serve with toasted bread.

Notes

  • Use poached eggs instead for a more traditional Cilbir style.
  • Adjust chili flakes based on spice preference.
  • Best enjoyed fresh but components can be prepped ahead.
