  • ½ teaspoon black pepper
  • ½ teaspoon red pepper flakes (optional)

For the Sauce:

  • ½ cup low-sodium soy sauce
  • ¼ cup hoisin sauce
  • ¼ cup brown sugar
  • ½ cup beef broth
  • 1 tablespoon cornstarch + 2 tablespoons water (slurry)

For Garnish:

  • 2 green onions, sliced
  • Sesame seeds (optional)

Instructions

  • Cook the noodles according to the package instructions, then drain and set aside.
  • Brown the ground beef in a skillet over medium-high heat with 1 tablespoon vegetable oil, breaking it apart as it cooks.
  • Add garlic and ginger and sauté for 1-2 minutes until fragrant. Stir in black pepper and red pepper flakes.
  • Prepare the sauce by whisking together soy sauce, hoisin sauce, brown sugar, and beef broth.
  • Combine the sauce with beef, letting it simmer for 3-4 minutes.
  • Thicken the sauce by stirring in the cornstarch slurry and cooking for another 2-3 minutes.
  • Toss in the cooked noodles, stirring to coat evenly in the sauce.
  • Garnish with green onions and sesame seeds, then serve hot.
