Description

Ingredients

  • Unsalted Butter: 1/2 cup, softened
  • Granulated Sugar: 1 cup
  • Molasses: 1/2 cup
  • Egg: 1
  • All-Purpose Flour: 2 cups
  • Baking Soda: 2 teaspoons
  • Ground Ginger: 1 teaspoon
  • Ground Cinnamon: 1 teaspoon
  • Ground Cloves: 1/2 teaspoon
  • Salt: 1/2 teaspoon

Instructions

  • Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  • In a large bowl, cream butter and sugar until light and fluffy (about 3–5 minutes).
  • Add molasses and egg, mixing well until fully combined.
  • In a separate bowl, whisk together flour, baking soda, ginger, cinnamon, cloves, and salt.
  • Gradually add dry ingredients to the wet mixture, stirring until just combined.
  • Roll tablespoons of dough into balls and place them 2 inches apart on the baking sheet.
  • Bake for 8–10 minutes, until edges are set but centers remain soft.
  • Cool for a few minutes on the baking sheet before transferring to a wire rack to cool completely.

Notes

  • For extra softness, chill the dough for 30 minutes before baking.
