- 12 oz pasta (penne, rotini, or fusilli)
- 1 lb Italian sausage (mild or spicy)
- 1 small onion, diced
- 3 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 tsp Italian seasoning
- ½ tsp red pepper flakes (optional)
- 1 (14.5 oz) can diced tomatoes
- 2 ½ cups chicken broth
- ½ cup heavy cream (or milk)
- 1 cup mozzarella cheese, shredded
- ¼ cup Parmesan cheese, grated
- 1 tbsp olive oil
- Salt & black pepper to taste
- Fresh basil or parsley for garnish
Instructions
- Cook the sausage – Heat oil in a large skillet. Brown the sausage, breaking it apart.
- Sauté aromatics – Add onion and garlic, cooking until fragrant.
- Add liquids & pasta – Stir in tomatoes, broth, seasoning, and uncooked pasta. Bring to a boil, then simmer until pasta is tender.
- Make it creamy – Stir in heavy cream, mozzarella, and Parmesan until smooth.
- Final touches – Adjust seasoning, garnish with fresh herbs, and serve hot!

- If pasta absorbs too much liquid, add a splash of broth or milk.
