Ingredients

12 oz penne pasta

1 cup frozen or fresh peas

1 small yellow onion, chopped

6 slices turkey bacon or beef bacon, chopped

1 cup heavy cream

Salt and pepper, to taste

1/2 cup grated Parmigiano Reggiano or Pecorino Romano (optional)

1/4 cup reserved pasta water
Instructions

Boil pasta in salted water.

Add peas 3 minutes before pasta is done.

Sauté chopped bacon until crispy, set aside.

In same skillet, cook onions in bacon fat.

Add cream and simmer.

Combine drained pasta, peas, and bacon in sauce.

Stir in cheese and pasta water as needed.

Season and serve hot.
