Description

This 15-minute salsa recipe is fresh, zesty, and made with simple ingredients like tomatoes, jalapeños, garlic, and lime. Perfect for dipping or topping your favorite dishes.


Ingredients

  • 1 can (15 oz) diced tomatoes (fire-roasted preferred)

  • 1/2 small white or sweet onion, chopped and soaked

  • 2 garlic cloves

  • 12 jalapeño peppers, seeded as desired

  • 1/2 cup fresh cilantro

  • 2 tbsp fresh lime juice

  • 1/2 tsp salt

  • Optional: 1/2 tsp ground cumin or smoked paprika


Instructions

  • Soak chopped onion in cold water for 10 minutes.

  • Drain tomatoes (if using canned) and save liquid if needed.

  • Add all ingredients to a food processor or blender.

  • Pulse until desired consistency is reached.

  • Taste and adjust seasoning.

  • Chill for at least 30 minutes for best flavor.

  • Serve and enjoy.

Notes

  • For smoky flavor, use fire-roasted tomatoes or add a chipotle pepper.
  • Adjust heat by using more or fewer jalapeño seeds.
  • Keeps well in the fridge for up to 1 week.
