Ingredients

  • Ground Turkey: 1 pound
  • Broccoli Florets: 2 cups
  • Shredded Carrots: 1 cup
  • Onion: 1 medium, diced
  • Sesame Oil: 2 teaspoons
  • Cooked Rice: For serving

For the Teriyaki Sauce:

  • Honey: 2 tablespoons
  • Brown Sugar: 3 tablespoons
  • Soy Sauce: ¼ cup
  • Garlic: 3 cloves, minced
  • Fresh Ginger: 1 teaspoon, grated
  • Orange Zest: 1 tablespoon (optional)
  • Red Pepper Flakes: ¼ teaspoon (optional)
  • Cornstarch: 2 tablespoons
  • Water: ¼ cup

Instructions

  • Prepare the Sauce: Whisk together honey, brown sugar, soy sauce, garlic, ginger, orange zest, and red pepper flakes. Mix cornstarch with water and add to the sauce. Set aside.
  • Cook Turkey: Heat 1 teaspoon sesame oil in a skillet. Sauté onion until translucent, then add turkey and cook until browned.
  • Add Vegetables: Push turkey to the side of the skillet. Add remaining sesame oil, broccoli, and carrots. Sauté until tender-crisp.
  • Combine with Sauce: Pour teriyaki sauce over the turkey and vegetables. Stir well and simmer until sauce thickens.
  • Serve: Serve hot over rice, garnished with green onions and sesame seeds if desired.
