Ingredients
- Ground Turkey: 1 pound
- Broccoli Florets: 2 cups
- Shredded Carrots: 1 cup
- Onion: 1 medium, diced
- Sesame Oil: 2 teaspoons
- Cooked Rice: For serving
For the Teriyaki Sauce:
- Honey: 2 tablespoons
- Brown Sugar: 3 tablespoons
- Soy Sauce: ¼ cup
- Garlic: 3 cloves, minced
- Fresh Ginger: 1 teaspoon, grated
- Orange Zest: 1 tablespoon (optional)
- Red Pepper Flakes: ¼ teaspoon (optional)
- Cornstarch: 2 tablespoons
- Water: ¼ cup
Instructions
- Prepare the Sauce: Whisk together honey, brown sugar, soy sauce, garlic, ginger, orange zest, and red pepper flakes. Mix cornstarch with water and add to the sauce. Set aside.
- Cook Turkey: Heat 1 teaspoon sesame oil in a skillet. Sauté onion until translucent, then add turkey and cook until browned.
- Add Vegetables: Push turkey to the side of the skillet. Add remaining sesame oil, broccoli, and carrots. Sauté until tender-crisp.
- Combine with Sauce: Pour teriyaki sauce over the turkey and vegetables. Stir well and simmer until sauce thickens.
- Serve: Serve hot over rice, garnished with green onions and sesame seeds if desired.
