Description

These Roasted Garlic and Pesto Strips combine buttery puff pastry with the rich, sweet flavor of roasted garlic and herbaceous pesto. They’re easy to make, delicious, and perfect for entertaining, snacking, or pairing with soups and salads.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 head of garlic
  • 2 teaspoons extra-virgin olive oil
  • 2 sheets frozen puff pastry, thawed
  • Pesto (enough to spread over the pastry)

Instructions

  • Preheat the oven to 400°F. Cut the top quarter off the garlic head, drizzle with olive oil, and wrap in foil. Roast for 20–25 minutes until golden and soft. Cool, then squeeze out the roasted cloves.
  • Roll out the thawed puff pastry slightly and place on parchment-lined baking sheets. Spread roasted garlic evenly across each sheet, followed by a layer of pesto.
  • Cut the pastry into ½-inch-wide strips, leaving the center intact. Twist each strip 3–4 times.
  • Bake for 20–22 minutes until golden brown and crispy. Cool slightly before serving.

Notes

  • Use cold puff pastry for easier handling.
  • Customize with Parmesan cheese, red pepper flakes, or other pesto flavors.
  • Reheat leftovers in a 350°F oven to restore crispiness.
