Description

These Strawberry Cream Cheese Heart Danishes are a quick and easy pastry, perfect for special occasions! With flaky puff pastry, a creamy vanilla filling, and fresh strawberries, they make a beautiful and delicious treat for breakfast, brunch, or dessert.


Ingredients

  • 1 sheet puff pastry (thawed)
  • 4 oz cream cheese (room temperature)
  • 2 tbsp white sugar
  • ½ tsp vanilla extract
  • A few drops of red food coloring (optional)
  • ½ cup fresh strawberries, diced
  • 1 large egg
  • 1 tbsp cold water

Instructions

  • Preheat oven to 400°F (200°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  • Prepare the filling: Mix cream cheese, sugar, vanilla, and optional food coloring until smooth.
  • Cut the pastry: Roll out puff pastry and use a heart-shaped cutter to cut out 7-9 hearts. Lightly score a smaller heart inside each.
  • Assemble: Spread cream cheese filling inside the scored border and top with diced strawberries.
  • Egg wash: Whisk egg and water, then brush the pastry edges.
  • Bake for 15-17 minutes until golden brown.
  • Cool & serve warm or at room temperature.

  • Use fresh or frozen strawberries (if frozen, pat dry before using).
  • Substitute strawberries with raspberries, blueberries, or jam for variety.
