Ingredients

Scale
  • 1¼ cups all-purpose flour

  • 3 tbsp cornstarch

  • ½ tsp salt

  • ½ tsp baking soda

  • ½ cup cold butter, cubed

  • 6 tbsp granulated sugar

  • 6 tbsp brown sugar

  • 1 egg

Instructions

  • Preheat oven to 475°F. Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.

  • In a large bowl, cream cold butter with both sugars until just combined.

  • Beat in the egg and vanilla.

  • Gradually add dry ingredients to the wet mixture.

  • Fold in chocolate chips and walnuts (if using).

  • Scoop dough into tall balls.

  • Bake for 6–8 minutes until tops are golden but centers are soft.
